Dresden is one of my favourite day-trip destinations from Prague. The city was almost completely destroyed in 1945, yet what stands today is a stunning testament to decades of meticulous reconstruction. I love shooting the Frauenkirche, the way its pale sandstone dome catches golden-hour light against the darker original stones is endlessly photogenic.
The Zwinger Palace courtyard, the Semperoper opera house, and the Brühl's Terrace along the Elbe give you a concentrated dose of Baroque architecture that rivals anything in Central Europe. I guide you to compositions most visitors walk right past, reflections in the fountain basins, arched passages framing the skyline, and long-lens compressions of the rooftop statues.
