Photograph the colorful cliffside villages of Cinque Terre at golden hour, dramatic coastal light, and the iconic Leaning Tower of Pisa.
Cinque Terre is all about color, elevation, and timing. Standing above Manarola at sunset, when the light catches the painted facades and the terraced vineyards fall away to the sea, it's one of the most purely photogenic scenes I know. I often shoot here in the evening and then again at blue hour, when the village lights come on.
Vernazza and Riomaggiore offer narrower streets and better access to the harbor walls. I like to position low at the waterline to bring in the foreground reflections and use a slower shutter to smooth out the Mediterranean. Early mornings are usually calm, which makes this much easier.
Pisa is a short drive away and, despite being so famous, still rewards careful composition. Beyond the obvious Leaning Tower shot, the Piazza dei Miracoli in soft morning light has incredible architecture worth exploring slowly. I always find angles that avoid the crowds and focus on the building's details.
